Founded in 2019 by Hayley Abner, Buzzkill is a laid back and inclusive salon located a few minutes from downtown Cincinnati in historic Newport, Kentucky.
The unique space is big, bright, and offers genderless services using nontoxic products. With a passion for creativity, the salon is a safe and welcoming environment for vivid colors, intricate + lived-in cuts, and everything in between.
Meet our team
Hayley Owner/Stylist
Hayley has been a professional hairstylist since 2012 and expanded her expertise with a barbering license in 2017. She loves to create bold platinum and vibrant colors, and excels in a wide range of haircuts for all hair types; from pixies, shags, and mullets to curly cuts and precise clipper work, with a special focus on straight razor techniques. Passionate about both creativity and wellness, she prioritizes using nontoxic products and ensuring that every client leaves feeling confident and cared for in a look that reflects their individual style.
Lance Stylist
Lance started doing hair professionally in 2015 after he graduated from Aveda Fredric’s Institute. He’s been an independent contractor at Buzzkill since we opened in 2019. Lance specializes in lived-in color and haircuts, blonding, and all things natural. He loves building close relationships with his clients, who always leave his chair with a new best friend and great hair.
Kaylee Stylist
Kaylee graduated from Paul Mitchell Lexington in 2018 and has been doing hair professionally since. She has a passion for continuing education in taking classes, teaching classes, and building education for other stylists. While she is a versatile stylist, Kaylee especially enjoys lived-in looks, hand-painted balayage, alternative colors, and razor cuts.
Jolee Stylist
Jolee has been doing hair professionally since graduating from Michael's College of Hair Design in 2023. While she loves a little bit of everything, she's especially fond of vivid colors, fun color placements, and alternative cuts with lots of texture and layers. Jolee is dedicated to creating looks tailored to each clients' specific style and interests, and loves to create long lasting bonds with the people who sit in her chair!
